REVIEW: PLATINUM JUBILEE PACKAGE AT LONDON HILTON ON PARK LANE

This month, we checked into London on Hilton Park Lane, an iconic, towering five-star hotel boasting incredible views over London. The hotel was the very first Hilton to land in the UK, gracing Mayfair with its presence in 1963; soon to become a well known destination for luxurious stays, fine dining and drinks. In honour of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, a Platinum Jubilee Package is available until 31st December 2022 - I was delighted to experience this.
Clarence Suite
Seeking the royal treatment in Mayfair? Look no further. The Platinum Jubilee Package includes one night in an elegant, spacious suite with views overlooking Buckingham Palace, with special Jubilee gifts on arrival. There is nothing quite like an hour in an armchair looking out across London with a cold glass of Champagne - on the night I stayed, I could see a party in full swing in the gardens at Buckingham Palace.
Jubilee Afternoon Tea, available until 30th June 2022
For a little extra sparkle, I booked a Jubilee themed Afternoon Tea (available until 30th June), priced at £39 per person, or £49 with a glass of Louis Pommery England Brut. A selection of classic teas are available - Organic Assam, English Breakfast, Darjeeling and Earl Grey. Delicate teas include Organic Jasmine Pearls, Chaquoing Green and Relax Tea.
The warm, freshly baked scones stole my heart - plain, chocolate chip and raisin scones with pots of Cornish clotted cream, homemade strawberry jam and, best of all, salted caramel. Indulgent jubilee themed cakes, including the Eton mess Profiterole, steal the show - edible works of art with a charming royal reference. This afternoon tea is truly spectacular!
If you’re looking for lunch or dinner with a view, you can enjoy 360° views of London at the award winning restaurant on the 28th floor - Galvin at Windows. The restaurant boasts seasonally inspired modern British cuisine in an unrivalled setting. Currently on the A La Carte menu: Orkney scallop, fennel, tonka bean & Sicilian lemon; Jersey royals, Hen of the Woods, peas & summer truffle; and Cornish monkfish, seaweed, clams & Alsace bacon.
Trader Vic’s
If you’re in the mood for cocktails, head downstairs to Trader Vic’s, home of the original Mai Tai, one of 17 sites across the globe. This fun tiki bar serves up some of London’s finest concoctions alongside island-style dishes. We recommend the tropical ‘Tears of the Tiki’ cocktail - spiced rum, orange liqueur, and pineapple juice; with a side of Popcorn squid.
London Hilton Club Spa
All in all, the hotel offers a wealth of benefits. Amenities include pet-friendly rooms, an executive lounge, a spa and fitness centre, business centre and meeting rooms, making it a brilliant hotel for leisure and business travellers alike. The location could not be better for those looking to explore Mayfair, Kensington and beyond. The views across London from Galvin at Windows and from certain hotel rooms are the biggest selling point of all.
