AN INTIMATE CHOCOLATE EVENT: PIERRE MARCOLINI UNVEILS 2026 CHRISTMAS COLLECTION

This Mayfair Musings correspondent was lucky enough to be invited to a private event hosted by celebrity chef Judy Joo and chocolatier extraordinaire Pierre Marcolini. In the wonderful setting of Joo’s London home, we were treated to a preview of the Pierre’s exceptional Christmas offering.
The intimate home setting only served to underscore Pierre’s philosophy that cooking for family is a wonderful demonstration of affection. It is hard to feel too formal when you’re standing in your socks! The centrepieces of the event were three casserole dishes, made entirely of chocolate. One by one Pierre walked us through the fillings, coffee, praline, and pure chocolate. Under his and Judy’s careful eyes, we filled our own miniature versions. I will admit, I have never felt quite so inadequate about my piping skills! The resulting dishes were decadent without taking themselves too seriously.
As always with Pierre Marcolini’s creations, a sense of playfulness ensures that his creations never feel stuffy. Chocolate should be fun, after all. Macarons in unusual flavours like wasabi and mustard are sure to delight at any dinner party. Glossy chocolate pandas were filled with fluffy marshmallow.
The focus on family continued throughout. Our host would occasionally burst into song while cooking, and laughed and joked with us in the kitchen. A particularly charming moment was when Marcolini proudly explained that his 10 year old daughter had a hand in the design of the advent calendar (she believes strongly there ought to be a door on the 25th). Here at the Mayfair Musings, we quite agree!
