MAYFAIR PILATES REVIEW: INVIGORATING WORKOUTS THE HEART OF MAYFAIR
Would you like to build a lean toned body, help correct your back from hunching over your desk all day long, straighten out your posture and improve your flexibility all whilst focusing on an all around sense of wellbeing? If so, then Mayfair Pilates is the perfect route to get into a pilates regime that is right for you.
Pilates has been one of my favourite workouts for a few years now, and I would recommend it to beginners and advanced alike. Not only is pilates great for you in almost every way you can think, its also a really fun thing to do!
Mayfair Pilates is located in one of London’s grandest squares; Grosvenor Square right in the heart of Mayfair. The studio is ground level and filled with natural daylight, a rare and wonderful bonus in London where most gyms tend to be underground. The decor is bright but calming and spotlessly clean.
The gym facilities and bathrooms are new and beautiful, it’s a further pleasant 15 minutes to take a shower before heading on to work. No need to feel intimidated by the reformer platforms which can be very scary looking machines, the friendly and smiley instructor confidently walked us through the techniques and movements slowly and informatively.
The small classes of four people allow for the instructor to easily help correct postures and ensure we were all getting the most out of our workout and avoiding injury. The majority of the class is spent either standing, sitting or lying down, but don’t be fooled, it provides an invigorating workout making the perfect interlude between your bed and work desk on a grey October morning.
I thoroughly enjoyed my Mayfair Pilates session, and will certainly be visiting again in the near future.
