As we step into June, I finally start to feel like summer has arrived. As we (hopefully!) bid farewell to spring showers and days that require preparation for every kind of weather, my attention turns to entertaining outdoors, with lesser need for an interior backup plan! Naturally, these early summer months bring with them an array of seasonal flowers that reflect the jubilant mood outside; bright, blossoming, and eternally optimistic. In fact, next week marks British Flowers Week, a celebration of home-grown florals, giving even more reason to save a spot for our native varieties at your next gathering.
Here are some of my favourite ways to embrace the warmer season at every summer occasion.
Celebrate a Fleeting Favourite
June offers up some of my most loved flowers, and one, in particular, that is a renowned crowd pleaser. Peonies! Frothy, fluffy, and full of seasonal fragrance, they have become one of our signature varieties at FLOWERBX. One of my favourite things about peonies is that they need very little styling to help display their beauty. You can also get away with using fewer stems, due to their voluptuous floral heads. This year, our new varieties include Angel Cheeks and Lil Darling, both having become instant classics.
But you better be quick! Peony season is notoriously short but sweet, so you only have a couple more weeks to get your hands on our picks.

Let Nature Guide Your Floral Choices
Creating a table that keeps your guests talking need not be complicated. The start of summer brings with it an array of dainty delights, like scabiosa, sweet pea, stocks, and snapdragons. These flowers lend themselves perfectly to an outdoor celebration, thanks to their quintessentially British, country-garden style aesthetic. Another great thing about using seasonal flowers at this time of year is that their scent is second to none, but you can always give your floral notes an extra boost by adding a timely fragrance to the table, like our Peony Candle.

Once you’ve chosen which floral varieties are going to set the mood, it is time to let them inspire the rest of your setup.
