This week, Annabel's and The Caring Family Foundation welcomed Malala Fund and a panel of girls to the annual International Day of the Girl breakfast talk with guests including Malala Yousafzai, Phoebe Dynevor, Ellie Goulding, Rose Williams, Precious Mustapha, Riz Lateef, Jada Sezer, Soma Sara and Richard and Patricia Caring.

Hosted in The Garden at Annabel’s, the talk consisted of a panel of inspiring girls including Nila Varman (Founder and host of The Nila Extract!) Dr. Ayesha Kareem (Malala Fund Girl Fellow) and Aaliya Malik (Young Women and Girls Volunteer at Apna Haq). Award-winning journalist Nelufar Hedayet led the panel exploring how girls discover their passions and the driving forces behind their advocacy efforts. The girls discussed how their lives inspire their activism and the joys of girlhood.

Malala Yousafzai then took to the stage to highlight her activism journey and share stories from her global campaign for girls’ education through her non-profit organisation, Malala Fund.

Malala Yousafzai, Nobel laureate and girls’ education activist said: "I am honoured to partner with The Caring Family Foundation to celebrate girls and young women, today and every day. Girls’ experiences and solutions deserve all of our attention. By investing in girls' ability to learn and lead, we can help create a brighter, more equitable world where every girl can fearlessly chase her dreams and live them out for all to see."

Patricia Caring, Co-founder of The Caring Family Foundation and Co-Chairwoman of Annabel’s said, “On this International Day of the Girl, it is our honour to host Malala Yousafzai, Malala Fund and an extraordinary panel of young women at Annabel’s. Hearing Malala today was emotional for myself and The Caring Family Foundation, as her message is not only about strength and courage to stand up for what she believes in, but also one of resilience and forgiveness. She is an inspirational thought leader, teaching us the importance of protecting, educating and supporting girls from around the world, a mission that aligns with the work of The Caring Family Foundation. We both believe that girls should not be deprived of the basic right of education, but there are 120 million girls in the world who have been denied, or do not have access to learning. It was a unique moment for us to come together, and act as a united voice to empower and advocate for girls who still face challenges in our world today.”

To date, The Caring Family Foundation has been instrumental in delivering 19,000 services to women and girls in Brazil through Bem Querer Mulher. 500 meals are provided daily to girls through TCFF’s 'Amor que Nutre' project. In the UK, TCFF has launched a partnership with Women's Aid through the TCFF Domestic Abuse Grant and has been instrumental in supporting 2,721 women and 408 girls aged between 0 to 25 years. The Caring Family Foundation and Annabel’s are committed to nurturing and empowering girls worldwide, addressing the unique needs of girls within our communities, advocating for their well-being, and nurturing their potential.
