As the evenings draw in and London begins to embrace its cosier side, there is something rather appealing about stepping away from the bustle of the city for a little rest and relaxation. With its discreet setting just moments from Bond Street, The Beaumont Mayfair has long offered a refined retreat in the heart of Mayfair, and its recently revamped spa provides another reason to linger.
The Mayfair Musings visited to experience the newly refreshed Spa at hotel, where Art Deco surroundings meet a thoughtful selection of treatments and holistic experiences.
Conveniently tucked away behind Bond Street station, The Beaumont Mayfair feels like something of a local secret. The Grade II listed hotel combines 1920s-inspired elegance with a sense of understated comfort, with 101 rooms and suites alongside Rosi restaurant, Le Magritte Bar, The Gatsby and, of course, The Spa.
The spa itself follows the hotel's elegant aesthetic, with softly lit white mosaic tiles and a selection of facilities designed for switching off. Guests can make use of a private Hammam, steam room, sauna, ice bar and plunge pool, while leather lounging chairs provide somewhere to pause between treatments.

It is intimate rather than sprawling, but that works in its favour. There is a feeling of being tucked away from the outside world, despite being right in the centre of Mayfair.
On arrival, I was handed a wonderfully fluffy white robe, hotel-branded slippers and the various essentials for settling in. The changing rooms are warm and spacious, with large gilt mirrors adding a touch of old-school glamour. The treatment itself began in one of the spa's discreet therapy rooms, accompanied by ambient music and a suitably peaceful atmosphere.
The Beaumont Mayfair has recently collaborated with entrepreneur Penny Adaarewa and her luxury organic skincare brand, Salvaterra, bringing Amazonian botanicals into its treatment offering. The brand's ingredients and botanical knowledge have been passed down through generations, with products including Vitamin C Radiance Oil, cleansing balm and revitalising cream.
For my visit, I opted for The Beaumont Mayfair's 60-minute full-body massage, inspired by natural botanicals. Before beginning, my therapist asked whether I would prefer a light, medium or firm pressure. Firm was, without question, the right choice. The massage was wonderfully thorough, with my therapist discovering knots that had evidently been waiting patiently to be found and working through them with care. The Salvaterra oil left my skin feeling moisturised without being overly rich, while the treatment itself provided a welcome pause from an otherwise busy schedule.

There was no sense of being hurried afterwards, either. I was encouraged to make use of the spa facilities and take my time, so I settled into the lounge chairs before trying the sauna and steam room. It would have seemed rather impolite not to.
The Spa at The Beaumont Mayfair offers a broad treatment menu, with something to suit different approaches to relaxation and skincare. For those who enjoy a results-led facial, the bio-active Oskia Signature Nutri-Glow Facial focuses on nourishment and rejuvenation. There are also targeted eye treatments, including Oskia I-Zone and Fatigue, incorporating lymphatic drainage and massage techniques to help reduce puffiness.
Massage treatments range from full-body and deep tissue to more targeted back and neck options, while the spa also offers IV therapies, manicures and pedicures, compression treatments and a variety of Hammam experiences incorporating scrubs and wraps.
The offering extends to men, too, with personalised facials, massages, steam treatments and cleanses available. A further addition comes through the spa's collaboration with Daniel Galvin, bringing the renowned London hairdresser's expertise to the hotel. Guests can arrange cuts, treatments and blow-dries without needing to leave the comfort of their room.

Perhaps what stood out most was the atmosphere. The spa is tranquil and cosy, with the treatment rooms conveniently positioned close to the changing facilities and relaxation areas. There is an appealing balance between old-world glamour and contemporary wellness. It has a vintage Hollywood quality, but without feeling theatrical or overly formal, while the treatment menu brings in more modern approaches to skincare and wellbeing.
I particularly appreciated that the spa did not feel overcrowded during my visit. There was space to recline, enjoy the facilities and properly switch off, rather than feeling as though I needed to move on to make room for the next guest.
The Beaumont Mayfair has the feeling of an insider's Mayfair address, yet its spa is open to those looking to enjoy a little of the hotel's discreet luxury without necessarily staying overnight. The surroundings are elegant, the service attentive and the experience unhurried. From the moment I arrived, the team were warm and knowledgeable, with a genuine sense of hospitality running throughout the hotel. Most importantly, I left feeling exactly as one hopes to after a spa visit: relaxed, recharged and considerably less tense than when I arrived.
Sometimes, a little indulgence is precisely what is required.
