LOVE LETTERS FROM LONDON: MONTBLANC & CLARIDGE'S CELEBRATE VALENTINE'S WEEK

This Valentine’s week, Montblanc invites you to slow down, put pen to paper, and share heartfelt messages with those who make life meaningful. In a first-of-its-kind collaboration, the luxury writing house has partnered with Claridge’s to launch Love Letters from London, appointing British poet Charlie Child as the hotel’s inaugural Poet-in-Residence for the week leading up to Valentine’s Day, from 10th - 13th February 2026.
A dedicated Poet’s Corner will be installed in Claridge’s iconic Art Deco lobby, where Charlie will craft unique and witty love notes, which will then be posted through the hotel’s historic letter box. Guests and visitors are also invited to pen their own letters, which Claridge’s will post free of charge anywhere in the world - a timeless way to send love across the globe.
Claridge’s letter box has quietly witnessed generations of correspondence since the hotel first opened in 1856. A photograph of Audrey Hepburn, captured at a 1953 reception, still graces the space above the letter box - a charming reminder of the romantic legacy the hotel carries. For Valentine’s week, the letter box will be renamed the Claridge’s & Montblanc Love Letter Box, honouring its enduring role in the art of handwritten communication.
“Romance has always been at the heart of Claridge’s,” says Thomas Kochs, Managing Director. “We look forward to inviting our guests and visitors to create new love letters with Montblanc and add to this wonderful tradition.”
Inspired by Shakespeare’s timeless tale, Montblanc’s Meisterstück Romeo & Juliet collection celebrates devotion and artistry in equal measure.
The Romeo LeGrand Fountain Pen is crafted in teal precious resin with platinum-coated fittings. A delicate leaf motif on the cap evokes Capulet’s orchard - the setting of Romeo and Juliet’s first declarations of love. A thorn pattern on the cone captures the intensity of Romeo’s passion. Its rhodium-coated Au 585 gold nib is engraved with Romeo’s name alongside a heart and dagger.
The Juliet Classique Fountain Pen features a cream-coloured precious resin body and gold-coated fittings. Its cap is adorned with a feather motif, symbolising Juliet’s ethereal beauty, and its Au 585 gold nib bears both Juliet’s name and the heart-and-dagger motif. Together, the pens are a poetic and timeless expression of love.
For those who wish to record their own words of affection, Montblanc has created accompanying notebooks and a 2-pen pouch in coordinating cream and teal, presented with a satin ribbon, making it the perfect companion for love letters both penned and posted.
The iconic Meisterstück 149 Gold-Coated Fountain Pen, with its black resin body, gold-coated fittings, and handcrafted Au 750 nib, also offers a century of fine craftsmanship for those who value writing as an art form.
