BURBERRY'S DANIEL LEE TO DESIGN CLARIDGE'S 2025 CHRISTMAS TREE

November 2025

Claridge’s has announced that this year’s much-anticipated Christmas tree will be designed by Daniel Lee, Chief Creative Officer of Burberry. In a collaboration that unites two icons of British style and craftsmanship, the tree will be unveiled in the hotel’s famed art deco lobby on the morning of Tuesday 25 November 2025.

Since the 19th century, Burberry has embodied the joy of Christmas - from hosting festive bazaars to welcoming Father Christmas himself to its Basingstoke store, the town where the house was founded in 1856. This enduring spirit of togetherness and celebration continues today, expressed through design, heritage, and a distinctly British sense of warmth.

The Claridge’s Christmas Tree 2025, envisioned by Daniel Lee for Burberry, will stand an impressive 16 feet tall, dressed with around 600 bows made from surplus Burberry fabrics - a beautiful nod to sustainability and the Victorian symbol of unity. Hanging bells and sculptural chess-piece ornaments, inspired by Burberry’s historic Equestrian Knight Design, add further charm and meaning. The motif itself was originally created through a public design competition in 1901, reflecting Burberry’s long tradition of collaboration and community. A striking gold crown topper will complete the design, with oversized chess pieces surrounding the base for a playful yet regal touch.

Reflecting on the collaboration, Daniel Lee said:

“Claridge’s has always felt like home from the moment you walk through its doors — a true emblem of British elegance and heritage, where I’ve enjoyed many special moments over the years. Being invited to design the hotel’s annual Christmas tree is a huge honour. I wanted to celebrate tradition and togetherness, expressing the season through vibrant colour and rich texture. Christmas has always been my favourite time of year.”

Claridge’s Managing Director, Thomas Kochs, added:

“Christmas is always the most magical time at Claridge’s, and this festive season we are honoured to welcome our long-standing friend Daniel Lee to create this year’s tree. We look forward to seeing guests and visitors immerse themselves in the creative world of Burberry and experience this very special collaboration.”

Now in its fifteenth year, the Claridge’s Christmas Tree has become an enduring London tradition - a sparkling symbol of the season and a celebration of artistry, imagination, and the timeless magic of Mayfair at Christmas.
