FENIX MAYFAIR: A NEW RESTAURANT INSPIRED BY THE FLAVOURS OF THE AEGEAN

Watch out, Mayfair, there’s a new contender in town.
Unlike many central London restaurants that try to cater to all, hosting a menu with a myriad of items, Fenix in Mayfair has taken an altogether different approach.
The new Greek Mediterranean restaurant has set the bar high as luxury meets warmth, with its Cyclades and Aegean dishes distinctively Greek in flavour, style and aesthetic.
Created by luxury hospitality company Unique, founded by brothers Adam Jones and Drew Jones, their first Fenix landed in Manchester in 2023, and their second Mayfair abode has now launched.

The Style

Minimalism is so last decade. Luxury warm flamboyance is in.
And Fenix has done just that, creating a 4,500-square-foot haven of soft lighting, with rustic creams and golds aplenty. The plush, spacious seating is adorned with matching cushions, all with the Mayfair postcode to boot.
Located on Piccadilly, opposite Green Park station, there is zero stuffiness here, but enough opulence to give you that special attention feeling.
With enthusiastic waiters, all ready to explain the dishes and the extensive drinks menu, the tables are spaced apart, and the lighting is low and glowing.
But while Fenix’s main role is to tantalise your taste buds, they also have a rather spacious bar area, which hosts after-work cocktails, mocktails and Greek wines. At the weekend, the celebrations get even bigger, with a DJ that keeps the party going until 1 am.
Then there’s the bathrooms. Could they be any more exotic if they tried? We think not. With intricate marble tiling and dark terracotta Mediterranean beiges, it’s enough to give you serious bathroom envy.
The Menu
Tuna Tartare | Fenix Mayfair
The summer menu emulates a journey through Greece, inspired by the traditions of the Cyclades. It’s also neatly sectioned into Chapters.
Chapter 1 starts with delicate plates, including spicy feta dip and tzatziki with pitta. In traditional meze style, eating was followed by a selection of more chapters (courses), including tuna truffle tartare, halloumi tempura, seabass, finishing with Greek ice cream and Loukomades.
Each course arrives like small works of art, each tasting like the rich tapestry of Greece.
For those who prefer individual larger dishes, their menu includes Moussaka, beef paccheri, glazed chicken, Mykonian salad and more.
The vision for their menu is the symbolism of the Phoenix, to give that feeling of pure Greek hospitality in the heart of London, without needing to take a flight anywhere.

The Atmosphere
Lunch was less quick bite and more like one long celebration.
There were parties dotted around of work friends, travellers and my personal favourite; ladies who lunch.
The diners, just like us, stayed for a favourable amount of time, with each course followed by good conversation.
The waiters were so friendly that by the end of Chapter 5 (dessert), they felt like old friends and even took some photos for us.

In a Nutshell
Would we recommend Fenix? Absolutely.
The warmth, high-octane eating, beautifully placed tables, luxury décor, and friendly staff made it an all-immersive, personable experience.
Will we be back? Most definitely. Just next time, remind us to bring our dancing shoes so we can stay out way after our bedtimes.
