For the first time, Handel Hendrix House - the historic Mayfair museum that was once home to both composer G.F. Handel and rock icon Jimi Hendrix - will launch its inaugural Summer School from Monday 4th to Thursday 7th August 2025 at 25 Brook Street. Designed for aspiring young guitarists and vocalists aged 11 to 18, the four-day programme offers a unique opportunity to develop both creative and technical skills in a world-famous musical setting. The full course is £150, or £80 for a two-day option. Booking details can be found here.
Grace Scott Deuchar, Learning and Communities Manager at Handel Hendrix House, explains: “This newly introduced intensive summer school is aimed at talented young guitarists and singers who are passionate about growing their artistry and collaborating with other young people from a wide range of musical interests and backgrounds.”
Participants can choose between the first two days focused on guitar technique, the final two days dedicated to songwriting workshops, or attend the full course. Sessions will be led by acclaimed guitarist Nigel Jones - well-known for his popular Guitar Saturdays - and MaJiKer, celebrated songwriter and vocal producer, aka The Song Doctor. Each day concludes with an informal jam session open to friends and family, and this year’s programme also includes a special Q&A with Tim Bennett-Hart, CEO of RSL (Rockschool) Awards.

Events in July - August 2025
Saturday 12th July and Sunday 13th July - Baroque and Roll Live Music
This event is all day, included in general admission ticket price. Book online here.
Baroque, 1-3pm
In Handel’s day, the finest and most famous musicians rehearsed for his operas in his dining room in Brook Street. Experience the vibrancy and intimacy of live music in this space during our weekend slots as musicians perform music by Handel and his contemporaries on the harpsichord, with other historical instruments and singers.
Rock, 2-4pm
Immerse yourself in the sounds of the 1960s in Jimi's bedroom. Our guitarists will fill the rooms with blues and give you a taste of what it would have sounded like when Jimi lived here. Jimi and Kathy's flat would be constantly filled with music. From playing his extensive record collection on his record player to jamming with friends such as George Harrison, the flat was buzzing with music and creativity.
Thursday 17th July - The Jimi Sessions with Kelly Rosenthal
Kelly Rosenthal is a Los Angeles based singer, songwriter, and guitarist whose music blends dynamic guitars with emotive vocals, drawing listeners into a world of vulnerability. Inspired by the likes of Jeff Buckley and Sinead O’Connor, Kelly creates deeply expressive music that draws from folk, rock, classical, and blues.
This July, she will perform for you, my love, with love in full at the historic Handel Hendrix House. Audience members will be invited into an intimate, one of a kind setting - seated on the floor as Kelly performs from the bed - for a night of unforgettable music.
Tickets: £25, book online here.
