BAROQUE MEETS ROCK 'N' ROLL: A MAYFAIR HOUSE PARTY AT HANDEL HENDRIX HOUSE

BAROQUE MEETS ROCK 'N' ROLL: A MAYFAIR HOUSE PARTY AT HANDEL HENDRIX HOUSE

Thursday 25th July 2026

If ever there was an invitation worthy of your September diary, this is it. To mark 25 years of Handel Hendrix House opening its doors to the public, Mayfair’s most extraordinary museum is hosting a house party unlike any other - where Baroque brilliance meets rock ‘n’ roll rebellion under one historic roof.

From 18th–20th September, Hallelujah House Party will transform the former homes of composer George Frideric Handel and guitar icon Jimi Hendrix into an immersive musical celebration, proving that while centuries may separate the two artists, their creativity, charisma and cultural impact remain strikingly in tune.

Curated and hosted by BBC Radio 3’s Georgia Mann, better known as the Classical DJ, the event will see every floor of the Brook Street museum brought to life through specially selected DJ sets inspired by the lives and legacies of its two most famous residents. Expect Handel to meet Hendrix in a soundtrack that effortlessly blurs genres, centuries and expectations - because if there was ever a place for musical worlds to collide, this is surely it.

The celebrations also coincide with the launch of a fascinating new exhibition exploring Handel’s entrepreneurial spirit, revealing how the composer transformed his Mayfair home into a place of creativity, business and entertaining. It’s a timely reminder that long before the neighbourhood became synonymous with luxury, it was already attracting cultural trailblazers with ambitious ideas.

Friday and Saturday evening sessions promise a lively after-hours experience, while Sunday’s family-friendly event welcomes younger music lovers to discover the museum in a refreshingly unexpected way. Tickets include museum entry, the curated DJ experience and refreshments, making it the perfect excuse to experience one of Mayfair’s most distinctive cultural gems after dark.

As Georgia Mann puts it, the event celebrates “musical worlds colliding while a very good time is being had” - a sentiment that feels entirely fitting for a house once occupied by two revolutionary artists who each redefined music in their own era.

After all, not every house party can claim guests separated by two centuries. In true Mayfair fashion, this one promises impeccable company, unforgettable music and a whole lot of history with a modern twist.
