A TASTE OF KERALA: JAMAVAR CELEBRATES TEN YEARS WITH ITS FIRST ONAM SADHYA
Tuesday 11th August 2026
There are few meals that feel quite as transporting as a traditional Onam Sadhya - a lavish South Indian harvest feast designed to be enjoyed slowly, communally and in abundance. This August, Mayfair’s Michelin-starred Jamavar is bringing its own interpretation to London, marking its tenth anniversary with a celebration that is as personal as it is gastronomic.
Available for just two weeks, from 15–31 August 2026, Leelamma’s Onam Sadhya takes its name from Leela Nair, grandmother of owner Samyukta Nair, and draws on the culinary traditions of the Nair family’s South Indian heritage.
The 21-dish feast is served at lunch, offering an unusually expansive introduction to the food of Kerala. There are familiar pleasures - banana chips and pickles - alongside more elaborate dishes including Sea Bass Meen Porichathu and Alleppey Prawn Curry. A full vegetarian menu is also available, with each course contributing to the generous rhythm of the Sadhya.
Dessert brings the meal to a suitably indulgent close, with Pal Payasam and Parippu Pradhaman among the final offerings. It is the sort of feast that feels less like a restaurant menu and more like being invited into someone’s family tradition - a rare opportunity in London to experience the breadth and generosity of an authentic Keralan celebration.
For Jamavar, the occasion also marks a significant milestone. Over the past decade, the restaurant has established itself as one of Mayfair’s most distinctive destinations for Indian cuisine, combining regional traditions with an elegant contemporary setting. Its first Onam Sadhya brings that philosophy back to its roots, offering a glimpse into the food and family heritage behind the restaurant.
Priced at £68 per person, the Sadhya is available exclusively at lunchtime and must be booked in advance. With only a fortnight in which to experience it, this is one Mayfair lunch worth planning around.
