Lympstone Manor has partnered with children’s lifestyle brand Banwood to create a new family escape designed around exploring the Devon countryside and coast.
Set on the banks of the Exe Estuary, the five-star country house hotel is introducing a fleet of Banwood bicycles, trikes and scooters for younger guests to enjoy across its 28-acre estate. Families can explore woodland paths, the vineyard and the Exe Estuary Trail, which stretches towards Exmouth Beach, with Banwood’s signature wicker baskets providing the perfect place for picnic finds, shells and seaside treasures.
The partnership comes alongside a new October half-term package, with children staying free when sharing with adults between 23 October and 1 November 2026. Families can stay in one of the hotel’s Shepherd’s Huts, tucked into woodland at the foot of the estate vineyard. Designed with families in mind, the dog-friendly huts feature private terraces, countryside views, bunk beds with stargazing skylights and outdoor firepits for evening marshmallows.
There is plenty to keep younger guests occupied during a stay. The estate’s Lady’s Walk offers opportunities for bird watching and wildlife spotting, while the woodland paths, planting and resident beehives provide a chance to discover more about the natural surroundings. The wider Exe Estuary is also well suited to outdoor adventures, with sailing, paddleboarding, water skiing and kite surfing among the activities available nearby.

For families keen to explore further afield, the Jurassic Coast is within easy reach, offering coastal walks and fossil hunting, while nearby attractions include World of Country Life and The Donkey Sanctuary. Guests booking the half-term package can also choose from family passes to Crealy Theme Park & Resort or Wildwood Devon, or a scenic river and coastal cruise with Stuart Line Cruises.
Back at Lympstone Manor, the relaxed Pool House Restaurant offers a children’s menu, while babysitting can be arranged for parents wishing to enjoy dinner at the Michelin-starred restaurant. The estate’s 17,500-vine vineyard also offers tours during the warmer months, adding another element to the experience for adults.
Shepherd’s Hut stays start from £448 per night, including breakfast. Book online here.
