BENTLEY'S OYSTER BAR & GRILL WELCOME CHEF ALASDAIR GILL FOR SPECIAL EVENT
On Monday 5th October 2026, Bentley’s Oyster Bar & Grill will welcome chef and writer Alasdair Gill for a special one-night dinner inspired by his new book, Knives and Spoons.
Taking place at the much-loved Swallow Street institution, the evening holds particular significance for Gill, with Bentley’s having been a favourite haunt of his late father, the celebrated restaurant critic A.A. Gill.
Guests will begin with a welcome drink, oysters and canapés before settling in for a four-course menu drawn from Knives and Spoons. Each dish will be accompanied by snippets from the book, offering an insight into the stories and inspiration behind the food.
Tickets are priced at £110 per person, with guests also able to purchase a copy of the book and have it signed by Alasdair Gill and Richard Corrigan.
A London institution since 1916, Bentley’s has long been synonymous with exceptional fish and seafood. Chef Richard Corrigan restored the restaurant in 2005, retaining its classic character and commitment to carefully sourced produce. Today, its oyster shuckers open up to 1,000 oysters a day, with as many as 12 varieties available from British and Irish shores.
