CHRISTMAS 2026 AT HANDEL HENDRIX HOUSE: MAYFAIR MUSIC, FOOD & FESTIVE TREATS

Handel Hendrix House is welcoming the festive season with a programme of Christmas celebrations, live music and seasonal discoveries, inviting visitors to experience two remarkable musical legacies in the heart of Mayfair.
Running from 19 November 2026 until 3 January 2027, the historic townhouse, where George Frideric Handel and Jimi Hendrix once lived, will be dressed for Christmas with beautifully decorated trees, twinkling lights and festive details inspired by music and seasonal feasting. The restored interiors offer a charming opportunity to step away from the bustle of nearby Oxford Street and discover the history of two extraordinary artists.
Festivities begin with live cooking demonstrations in Handel's kitchen on 21 and 22 November, when food historians Marc Meltonville and Robert Hoare will recreate seasonal dishes in London's only publicly accessible early 18th-century townhouse kitchen. On 21 November, the pair will also host Feasting for Christmas, an evening exploring Georgian festive food and traditions, accompanied by a glass of seasonal punch.
December brings a musical programme, beginning with Deck the Halls! on 10 December. Sopranos Rachel Allen, Gwen Martin and Kristiina Watt, accompanied by harpist Emilia Agajew, will perform carols spanning the Renaissance and 18th century. A special Baroque & Roll weekend follows on 12 and 13 December, filling the house with seasonal music.

Other highlights include the Handel Youth Ensemble's Rising Notes concert on 6 December and Christmas Party Chez Handel on 15 December, an atmospheric candlelit evening of mince pies, festive drinks, musicians and carol singers.
Visitors can also explore the exhibitions Hallelujah House: Inside Handel's HQ, Ronnie Wood: The Jimi Hendrix Portraits and Hendrix in London, offering fresh perspectives on the musicians' lives and work. All are included in general admission.
With a festive programme spanning history, music and food, Handel Hendrix House offers a distinctive cultural escape this Christmas, just moments from London's busiest shopping streets.
