There was a time when travelling with a dog meant little more than a bowl of water outside a country pub and perhaps a well-meaning pat on the head from passers by. The Beaumont Mayfair, one of my favourite hotels, has announced a charming new partnership with premium dog accessories specialist Ruff and Tumble, ensuring that dogs receive just as much consideration as their owners.

It is an approach that reflects changing attitudes towards luxury travel, where experiences are increasingly designed around the whole family, paws included.
